Is this a form of carpal tunnel syndrome?

March 11, 2010

I spend a considerable amount on a computer at work. I am a rather tall individual however, and office furniture is built for normal size people. So, when I am using the mouse, my wrist is bent at a slightly awkward angle.

I also generally have a feeling of tension that restricts the range of motion of my wrist, but when I accidentally bend it a little too far, I have a sensation of a sudden and painful pop. For a few hours after that, I have full range of motion again and no pain. It has been this way for a few years now.
I should also probably mention that it takes a large amount of strain for this pop to happen. For example when shearing branches off a tree or lifting weights.
