I am moving cross-country…how can I ship my TV, bed, couch, computer desk, and TV stand?
December 26, 2009
I currently live in California but may move back to North Carolina at the end of the year. I live in a one-bedroom apartment and don't really own much in it. I plan on flying to NC and shipping my 50" TV, TV stand, bed, computer desk, desktop computer, and couch. How much would it cost to ship these? What is the best way to do it?

Your furniture and TV are too large to ship by UPS or USPS. So your two choices are by airfreight or by truck. With that number of items, I would expect air freight to be pretty expensive.
I suggest looking into an LTL trucker (less than full truckload). Some moving companies will take small consignments like this. Or try something like http://www.upack.com . The cost when I used them was similar to Uhaul, but I didn’t have to do the driving.
Good luck!
