How do I protect wood furniture from cigarette smoke?

March 10, 2010

My gf has a very nice wood bed set. She is moving into a new apt that has the old smell of cigarettes. Is there something we can put on the wood to protect it so it doesn't soak into the wood?

  1. Wash the walls, wash ceilings, clean the carpets and wash the windows..the apartment will not smell like stale smoke anymore and you won’t have to worry about anything..have the landlord clean the apartment before she moves in..or at least pay for her doing it…maybe the landlord will paint for her…never hurts to ask.

  2. Wash the walls with soap and water, but Febreeze works miracles. I moved into a house that had a heavy smoke smell. A new coat of paint did a great job. But Febreeze sprayed on door frames and even on brick took out the smoke smell.
