This is what I did because I did not want to drill a hole either. I removed ALL of the books, then moved the bookshelf and ran a low profile extension cord from the outlet. Then pushed it back into place and loaded all 100+ books back onto it again. Look at it this way, it gives you an opportunity to dust all those books and the shelves as well as the baseboards behind it. Argh… tough dilemma.
